Little Vignettes of My Day

Ah, finally, some time to get my craft on!  Simple pleasures - making sketches, hand stitching a bit of lace, touching up a painting - these are the things that make my days lovely.  And this is what my Thursday is looking like:

The vintage crochet & lace scraps jar is packed, the thread spools are doing well.  But doesn't that button jar look sad?  I am determined to fill it.  And I really must get those paintings finished.

One of my favourite sayings (which has sadly been appropriated by Telstra, of all monstrosities!) "You, whose day it is, get out your rainbow colours and make it beautiful".  Also, one of my favourite possessions - a glitter encrusted notebook from Typo, in which I write the things that touch my heart.

And progress on the cardigans!  (Shhh, don't tell, this one is a present for someone special!)

Speaking of cardigans, here's another that's on its way to being done:

You may remember it before:

Amazing what a bit of lace can do.  I'm still debating whether to do something pretty to the cuffs.  As it is, I have a gorgeous, flouncy black chiffon skirt that looks fabulous with this cardi (with or without fancy cuffs).  The colour is so difficult to photograph; it's a subtle peach, barely there in fact, but very pretty.

One last thing I wanted to show you today... look what my gorgeous mum gave me for my birthday!

Lacey frilly lovely embroidered trim things!  My mind goes into happy meltdown when I play with them.  I don't know what to make first, but it's gonna be very pretty :D
